Perfect Balance
Historically, considering only the three design factors of aerodynamics, stiffness and weight rarely yields dramatic improvement. Big gains in one area always compromise one or both of the others. The key to building the best aero road bike is finding the balance of these targets, and identifying additional performance factors that allow the rider to increase efficiency.

Power Transmission
The large majority of torsional and lateral loads are handled by the lower spine of the frame. A frame which is stiff in the right places means direct power transmission to the rear wheel.

Free Speed
Building on all of our aerodynamic knowledge. That means thousands of hours of modelling, wind tunnel sessions, and field testing fanatically considering every single component, searching for the sweet spot for Orca Aero.

Top tube and chainstays - Horizontal top tube and chainstays improve airflow.
Down tube and seat tube - Down tube and seat tube profile has been aerodynamically optimized for 25-28mm tires.
Reduce turbulence - Single profile transitions between head tube and downtube and the seat tube and seat stays reduce turbulence in these areas.
Rear wheel airflow - Drag around the rear wheel has been reduced by aligning the upper seat tube junction with the airflow.
New fork - New aerodynamically designed fork is optimised for high profile wheels.
OC Cockpit - Our new aero handlebar, stem and seatpost reduce drag.
High Speed Efficiency Test
In this test, we ask riders to maintain a series of fixed speeds and measure their power output. We use an indoor velodrome for this so that we have repeatable conditions and keep everything constant between runs so that the only change is the aerodynamics. This makes it possible to calculate the real-world impact of aerodynamic drag, in Watts, for any given speed.
STIFFNESS
THE KEY TO POWER TRANSMISSION
The large majority of torsional and lateral loads are handled by the lower spine of the frame. The headtube, downtube and chainstays resist twisting. There is no doubt about it, a frame that is stiff in the right places transfers more of your watts to the rear wheel. Your power converted to speed.
Carefully designing critical sections of the frame and optimizing the OMX carbon lay-up and cross-sections means class-leading stiffness to weight ratios. Orca Aero is one of the most efficient, fastest aero frames on the market.
Low Speed Efficiency Test
In this test, we ask riders to maintain a fixed speed on a steep climb while measuring their power output. The higher the power output for any given speed, the worse the climbing efficiency. By only changing the frame and keeping all the other variables constant, we can determine how efficient the power transfer is for each frame.

Our all new OC Cockpit has been designed for a perfect balance of aerodynamics, stiffness to weight and ergonomics.
ICR road stem
Our sprinter-proof road stem, is available in 7 lengths from 70 to 130mm and ensures a perfect fit and cable integration.
Road Handlebar
We have developed one of the fastest, most ergonomic aero handlebars. Available in 4 sizes from 360mm to 420mm, our new 5º flared aero bars and stem give up to 15 degrees of rotation plus a choice of width and reach.
Together our OC handlebar and stem offer an excellent stiffness for the most aggressive riders.
Orca Aero OMX seatpost
Our new aero seat post allows up to 25mm adjustment on setback and +/- 10º tilt. The 50mm depth seat post, is lightweight and compact.

Toolbox Behind The Front Wheel
The age-old question of where to carry essential tools, tubes and identification is answered by the integrated Toolbox behind the front wheel. Like the bottle cage, the Toolbox is not only useful but aerodynamically beneficial.
Orca Aero is Faster With The Bottle in Place
Airflow around the down tube rolls seamlessly past the bottle and cage, and nothing impedes the beautiful look of the frame. If you need more carrying capacity, there are standard bottle mounts on the down tube and seat tube.
Tire Clearance
With clearance for 30c tires, Orca Aero acknowledges that speed can also be comfortable. Modern road riders have discovered the advantages of bigger tires - A wider tire inflated to lower pressures can reduce rolling resistance and the added air volume dramatically increases compliance and traction.
